GSOM SPbSU programmes International Accreditations and Institutional Memberships

International accreditations and institutional memberships are essential road marks. GSOM gained an unprecedented for a Russian business school international recognition through a set of institutional memberships in the most prestigious international professional associations. They include CEMS (as an Associate Academic Member since 2006 and the only representative from Russia, since 2008 – Full Academic Member); institutional member of AACSB (since 2004), EFMD (since 2006), EABiS (since 2006) and GRLI (since 2007).  In October 2007 GSOM was granted a highly prestigious status of a Candidate to Membership at PIM, in October 2008 - Full Membership at PIM.

International accreditations and key institutional memberships

	Global Alliance in Management Education (CEMS)   CEMS is a strategic alliance of leading business schools and multinational companies. Its first mission is to set a global standard of excellence for pre-experience Master’s in management. Founded in 1988 in Europe, the network has grown steadily, largely due to the success and popularity of the CEMS Master’s in International Management: the MIM programme. At the CEMS Annual Meeting held in Dublin in December 2006, SOM SPbSU was unanimously approved for membership. On November 28, 2008 the CEMS Annual Meeting ratified a decision by CEMS Executive Board of June 26, 2008 to grant GSOM a full academic membership in CEMS.
	Association of MBAs   The Association of MBAs is the advocate for the MBA and was established in 1967. The Association's accreditation service is internationally recognised as the global standard for all MBA, DBA and MBM programmes. In 2008 GSOM SPbSU Еxecutive MBA Program got its accreditation certificate. For the first time Russian schools program has been granted an AMBA accreditation unconditionally for the maximum period of 5 years.
	EPAS - EFMD Programmes Accreditation System   EPAS is an international programme accreditation system operated by EFMD. It aims to evaluate the quality of any business and/or management programme that has an international perspective and, where of an appropriately high quality, to accredit it. The process involves a review in depth of individual programmes through international comparison and benchmarking. The evaluation report also includes the provision of strategic advice on how the programme may be improved so as to compete more effectively in international markets. Where appropriate, focus may be put on the programme’s compatibility and / or conformance with the Bologna structure. In April 2008 GSOM SPbSU had been the first institution in Russia to have obtained the EPAS accreditation for the Bachelor in Management program.

GSOM / SOM SPBSU MEMBERSHIP IN INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATIONS

	European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD)   The European Foundation for Management Development is a non-for-profit organization that was founded in 1972. It brings together management development professionals, and also helps its members with continuous quality improvement. EFMD is actively involved in accreditation of higher education institutions in management and accreditation of degree programmes. SOM SPbSU became an Institutional Member of the European Foundation for Management Development in November, 2006. It was approved by the EFMD Membership Review Committee.
	The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International)   AACSB International was founded in 1916 and began its accreditation function with the adoption of the first standards in 1919. It represents the highest standard of achievement for business schools, worldwide. Institutions that earn accreditation confirm their commitment to quality and continuous improvement through a rigorous and comprehensive peer review. AACSB International accreditation is the hallmark of excellence in management education. SOM SPbSU was approved for membership in 2004.
	European Academy of Business in Society   EABIS was established in 2002. The European Academy of Business in Society (EABIS) is a unique alliance of companies, business schools and academic institutions that is, with the support of the European Commission, committed to integrating business in society issues into the heart of business theory and practice in Europe. GSOM SPbSU is a member of EABIS since 2006.
	Globally Responsible Leadership Initiative (GRLI )   The GRLI is a unique global community of action and learning, consisting of organisations (the Partners) that work individually, in pairs, in clusters and collectively. The GRLI’s focused mission is to promote support and execute the development of a next generation of globally responsible leaders. Since 2007 GSOM SPbSU is a member of GRLI.
	Partnership in International Management (PIM)   PIM, Partnership in International Management, is a consortium of leading international business schools, founded in 1973. Each member institution represents the highest degree of excellence in the fields of business administration and management, demonstrates leadership in their geographic region and delivers an MBA or a graduate-equivalent degree in management. In October 2007 GSOM SPbSU (the single institution in Russia) became PIM candidate member in MBA and Master programs sphere. Graduate School of Management, St. Petersburg State University, has been accepted as a full member of Partnership in International Management  at the 35-th PIM Conference  on October 22 - 24, 2008.
