CEMS MASTER IN INTERNATIONAL MANAGEMENT (MIM)
The one-year CEMS joint degree program is the flagship initiative of CEMS, and the most international pre-experience Master on the world market place. It exists since the foundation of CEMS, the first students graduated in 1990. A major reform is being implemented since 2002 to grant the program very special characteristics, promote its branding and visibility, and make a very clear differentiation from common exchange programs.
The CEMS MIM is a double degree since it is always delivered in conjunction with a CEMS home school’s MSc degree (Master of Science in Management, e.g. MIB).
The CEMS MIM degree is enjoying high-end market recognition by international employers, and the #2 ranking in Europe by the Financial Times. This Master degree is by definition a supranational degree, and as such, it is not awarded nor recognized by any national legal authority. Students receive their degree at an outstanding CEMS graduation ceremony, which takes place each year at a different school, as part of the CEMS Annual Events. These very spectacular events with more than 1300 attendees also include the CEMS Career Forum (exclusively open to CEMS students and CEMS Corporate Members), as well as alumni annual meetings, or CEMS Board meetings.
The objective of MIM is to educate multicultural and multilingual students with the skills to thrive in an international business environment and become global business leaders. The claim of MIM is: “The ultimate degree”. Its distinctive features are the following:
Reputation of member schools & quality of students eligible for the program
Rigorous student selection process
Involvement of Corporate Partners in the program
Quality of program implementation (peer reviewed)
Exceptional network and community feeling
CEMS students are involved in a very active student life at each school, organized by the “CEMS Clubs” on each campus. They make sure that the program is also a human and cultural learning experience for the students.

Program Structure and Components
During the one-year MIM programme, students spend one semester (for GSOM students – the Fall Semester) at one of the CEMS schools and the other semester (the Spring Semester) – at another CEMS school.
MIM is meant to bridge the gap between academic university education and practical management. The programme has the following strong components that shape its personality:
A one-week introductory Block Seminar at any of the CEMS schools. These 17 workshops are focused on a transversal managerial issue, and bring academics together with practitioners.
A portfolio of courses, pided into core CEMS courses, and elective courses.
Skills seminars to focus on managerial skills and personal development.
A Business Consulting Project, to be completed for a company in small cross-cultural teams of students during the Spring term, with the tutoring by a professor.
An internship abroad, which lasts 10 weeks as a minimum
