The new MITIM program is a result of cooperation between two business schools.Lappeenranta University of Technology, School of Business (LSB) is a leading Finnish school in the sphere of innovations and technology management. The Graduate School of Management (GSOM) of St. Petersburg State University is one of the leading Russian business schools with a wealth of experience in management education programs and a CEMS membership. The Master’s Degree Program is a part of the Cross-Border University project.
 
The MITIM program is taught completely in English and it starts in the autumn of 2007.
 
The two-year program is divided into four semesters of studies. During the first semester, the students will study at the GSOM in St. Petersburg, and during the second semester, at LSB in Lappeenranta.   
 
The MITIM program is designed to give future managers the analytical and managerial skills necessary to succeed in the international business of technology and innovations. Graduates acquire an excellent background to bring high level competent management skills to multi-national corporations operating in Russia and Finland, and to help Russian and Finnish companies in the development of their international business activities. Graduates are trained to understand the specifics of international business environments, cross-border movement of goods, people and technology, and management of technologically oriented organizations in the global markets.  
 
The program courses are designed to meet the demands of managers working in the global economy, as well as in - contemporary dynamic Russian and Finnish businesses. Program curricula has been refined to ensure that students receive both a conceptual framework and practical methodologies in economics and management. They develop specific skills in international technology management, such as strategic planning of foreign market entry,  multicultural workforce management, coordination of multinational operations and risk management in international business. These skills, together with a high degree of technological, political and cultural awareness, qualify program graduates to take up a broad range of opportunities.
